The ‘Study space’ is a building consisting of a single room, a study. The only requirement of the room was that it should contain a chair designed by any architect.

The chair was Gehry’s ‘Wiggle Chair’ and the room would mirror the construction and the aesthetic.

The study is a large cube, the solid mass hollowed out, leaving a window seat, door, storage area, skylight and large desk. Like the chair, the inside is organically curved and the outside hard and linear. The construction, like the chair is a layering of individual squares of plywood (the chair is card), with uniquely shaped openings to compose a whole cube with an organic, cavernous volume inside.
